Step 1.Go to appearance option and click on editor.

Steps to change the settings of your website

step 1.Go to settings option and choose the option in which you want to change the settings.

Export and Import a WordPress Blog or Page

In wordpress, tools are used to take a export(take a backup of your website) or import(add any backup to the profile) of your website.

How to Export a WordPress Blog or Page(create backup file)

Some easy steps:
step 1.Go to tools and click on export.
step 2.Export page will open. it will ask for the options what you want to export(all content,pages or posts). choose the option as per your requirement and click on download export file.

whenever you want to use your page,post on another site or same site simply import your downloaded file.

Steps to import the backup file to your website

WordPress user roles and capabilities

WordPress uses a concept of Roles, designed to give the site owner the ability to control what users can and cannot do within the site.
A site owner can manage the user access to such tasks as writing and editing posts, creating Pages,
defining links, creating categories, moderating comments, managing plugins, managing themes, and
managing other users, by assigning a specific role to each of the users.

There are five types of user(Privileges bottom to up)

Subscriber: The user which is assigned the role as subscriber can subscribe the the website by entering its email id or whatever information it is asking for.
Contributor: Contributor can write and manage their own posts but cannot publish them.
Author: Author can publish and manage their own posts.
Editor: Editor can publish and manage posts of himself and other users too.
Administrator: Administrator can also be called super user. This type of user has all the administrative access to that particular website.

Steps to see already existing users on the website,

Steps to see already installed plugins on the website

Plugins add the specific set of features to the WordPress blog.
They allows enhancement to the WordPress blog easily.

Steps to download and add plugins to the website

step 1.Go the plugins in the left bar of the screen and click on add new.

step 2.All plugin page will open, from here you can search for the new plugin and install them to your website.
step 3.Type the plugin name or keyword related to the plugin you want to install in the search option.

step 7.Now you have installed the plugin, the next step is to use the plugin in the website. For that, we have different ways for different plugins.
For eg.
=>A. Some plugin provides us ‘short codes’. We need to copy the short code and paste it on the page we want that plugin.
=>B. In some plugins we need to change settings to use the plugin in the website.
=>C. Some plugins automatically gets add to the widgets and we need to manage the widgets to use that plugin on the website.

The plugin which we downloaded needs to change in settings. so here are the steps for that:

1.Go to the plugin and click on settings.

WordPress Menus

How to Create menu, add page to menu, add category to menu, add Static link to menu

Keep it in mind that you just have created pages till now, you haven’t used those pages in your website.
When you will visit the website, either you will not see those pages on your website or you will see those pages in improper manner, that clearly means that your purpose of creating all those pages is not fulfilled yet.
To accomplish your purpose you need to use those pages and to use those pages you have to follow the steps given below:
STEP 1. Go to Appearance option. A window will pop-out then click on menus from that window.

STEP 2. Click on Create a new menu.

STEP 3. Enter the menu name in the text box.

STEP 5. Add menu items from the column on the left. check the pages you want to add to the menu you created. click on add to menu option from same window.

STEP 6. You can drag and drop the pages to change the position or series of existing pages.

STEP 7.You can create a drop down in the pages(submenu).

To do this follow the below steps:

STEP 8.Drag the pages you want to create as subpages and drop them alittle right of the super page(page that you want to create main page).

You can also Add category and Link to the menu.

STEP 9. Set the menu settings from menu settings options as per your need. you can select Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu or primary menu.

Steps to delete a menu:

STEP 1. Go to appearance option and click on menus.
STEP 2. Click on select a menu to edit and select the menu from the drop down.

WordPress Page

In WordPress, you can create either posts or Pages to share you thoughts. When you’re writing a regular blog entry then create Post. Otherwise Create Page.

Steps to see all existing pages on your website:

STEP 1. Go to the page link on the left bar of the dashboard. A menu will pop up then click on ‘All pages’ in that menu.

STEP 2. It will take you to a new page where all pages are given with its all information like title, author, date etc.

Steps to add new PAGE:

STEP 1. Go to the page link on the left bar of the dashboard. A menu will pop up then click on new page in that menu

STEP 2. A new page form will appear. Enter the heading of the page in first line(text box) of the form

STEP 3. Enter the content in the text area given in the form of the page

STEP 4. You can add media i.e. images or videos to your page:
=> Click on add media on the top left of text are given to add the content to your page

=> A window will appear. it will show some images,you can add any image from those existing images.you can upload any new image from your system by clicking on ‘upload files’.

=> Now click on ‘insert into page’ on the bottom right corner of the window.

STEP 6. Steps to add comment option to your Page:
=> Click on screen options on the top right corner of the screen.A window will pop up.

=> Now scroll down the screen and a discussion box will appear, select Allow comments and Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page.

STEP 6. You can change layout for your page. To do that scroll down and go to end of dashboard,there is a window ‘Select layout for the specific page only’. From there you can select layout as per your need or you can leave it as default layout set in theme setting.

STEP 7. Choose the parent for the page you created, if you want your page to be child of some existing page and if you don’t want it as child of some existing page then choose ‘no parent’ from page attributes window.

STEP 8. Now to see the preview of your page, click on ‘preview’ on the top right corner of dashboard. it will show you a preview of your page.

Note: if you don’t like the page and you want to delete it then click on ‘move to trash’ option given on the bottom left corner of publish window.

STEP 9. if you like the page and you want to publish it on your site then click on the publish button in publish window.

Using all these above steps you can create as many as pages you want for your website.

Steps to delete or edit a Page:

STEP 1. Go to all page.
STEP 2. Bring the cursor to the page you want to delete or edit. Delete and edit option will become visible to you. click on the option Trash to delete and on edit to edit your existing page.
